CHILDREN

The bible which we Christians hinge our faith on and seek, nurture and draw our salvation from says “Children are a heritage from the lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127: 3). Although all men are children at heart and are God’s children; I am talking about the little children God said we shouldn’t keep away from him. According to Mark 10:14, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever doesn’t receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it”.

Children are the pride of men because Psalm 127: 4-5 says, “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them, they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate”. The way children are nurtured and moulded determines the way they will grow up and the path they will follow in life, just as Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.

The children’s department was established to bring children together so that they will be united and live together as brethren forsaking all division. Apart from this, the most important focus is providing the teachings of the word of God from the bible to them in ways they will understand through pictures, songs, dance, dramas and various other simple ways so that they will grow up in the ways of the lord and not depart from it.
